    Help with a new situation

Back in the summer I was shopping around for a bankruptcy attorney. I met with one and after that I told im that I was going to put filing on hold for awhile, which I did, because I couldn't afford it and was still unsure.

Yesterday I receive a message from him saying that he needs my tax returns and other documentation so he can go ahead and file the petition.

If you see my posts, I have already filed in Dec and I filed with the help of legal aid. I am confused as to why he thinks that I was going to be filing when I told him that I was unsure. How should I handle this? Should I call him and just tell him that I filed already or just ignore it?

He's probably just going through old contacts, seeing what people are planning to do who didn't hire him already... seems to me you could tell him you found out that you qualified for legal aid and apologize for not calling him to let him know. Not that you're under obligation to do so, just a courtesy call since it sounds like he gave you a free consult.
