im becoming a volunteer for the SPCA

my orientation is feb 9th

im really excited, this is my year for doing instead of just talking. ive been wanting to volunteer my time for animals for a long time now.

im going to start with this, but i have more ideas, like talking to HR at the company i work for and seeing about sending mass emails with pics of animals that need to be adopted, and setting up an SPCA donation box.

oh...and i FINALLY decide what i would like to go to school for....to be a veterinary technician, and wouldnt ya know it, no schools close to me offer it, so that makes it almost impossible to travel far and keep my job wich i need to support myself

Congratulations - it is good to know that there still are people around who care about/love animals.
Please treat them good - especially cats.

Excellent idea.

If you check out your local vets, not the chains, ask if you can intern with them for free or for nominal pay. You can become a vet tech if you gain experience, no schooling required with most vets.

BTW, SPCA is always looking for donations, not necessarily money.
Paper towels, blankets, plastic bags, baby wipes, etc.

Nothing greater than helping the defenseless, namely kids and animals.
