Reason for BK

Ok, just a question... if you're looking to rent a new apartment or something, obviously they do a credit check and will see the BK on there... can they see the reasons for it as well? Eg: medical, cc overuse, etc? Or is it better to do that explaining yourself? Thanks.... 10 days left in the 60 days!!!

I don't think they can see the reasons for your filing in your credit report, or at least I've never seen it show up in mine. I would just explain it myself if it comes up. The fact that you've filed bankruptcy will matter more to certain property owners than others. Some places are managed by very strict "corporate" guidelines and they sometimes turn folks down based only on credit scores. Others are more lenient and look more at your income and your ability to pay going forward.

It will not show the reason, you could be forthright and discuss or note why you filed bankruptcy in the past.
