What is pacer?

I really should know this... BUT I don't, so what exactly is Pacer? I have filed my chapter 7 bankruptcy paperwork a week ago. I registered for a username and password with pacer and I recieved that in the mail. Now what? I thought this would give me access to see what is going on with my case but I can't really figure out where to do this at. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should be able to login and do a query using your BK case number, name, SSN etc.

Find your district site for PACER, log in, enter your BK case number and check the HIstory/Documents folder.

You should see everything there. For example, if you filed in Central District of Cal Bankruptcy Court, google those terms, adding PACER to the search criteria and you should pull up a link to your appropriate court site.

Enter your state/district specific criteria of course.

You might not want to include your first name in your posts, given your screen name, unless is isn't your actual name, just for anonymity sake.

Not hard for people to look up a BK case and find personal info on you if you start posting specifics about your case including location.


Just a friendly caveat. Edit your post and remove your first name.
