Can HOA dues be included on a foreclosed home?

If a couple moved from one house to another in the same HOA development, are current on their new home with dues, but their old home is being foreclosed upon and they owe the dues on the old house.

Should they give the HOA a copy of their discharge letter (to come in 60 days?) or do you think they'll be responsible for the old dues, being that they still live in the community?

I think I heard once that the HOA loses $ when homes go into foreclosure. What would you do?

    thanks

You are responsible for the HOA dues post petition on the 'old house' until the bank completes the foreclosure process. The pre-petition debt is dischargeable.
