Capital Management Ventures, from their website, appear to be a small/micro debt buyer, and they appear to outsource collections to National Recovery Agency. They show up on my credit report for $71.00 but I can't figure out what the original debt is for. I called NRA and got no info, and called CMV but got just a voicemail to leave my number.
Has anyone else dealt with this bunch before? Were you ever able to find what the debt was?
I want to know who the real original creditor is so I can list them in my Ch 7 documentation.

Upon more research this appears to be collections from a book club, dvd club or cd club, or perhaps for magazine subscriptions. Still can't determine who the original creditor was.

Google both of them and there are several on ripoffreport.com. There is one on National Recovery where a Man found it on his Credit Report and they told him his wife, who is a doctor, ordered books. Another says something about West Bay Acquisitions.
My husband has a son from a previous marriage and only their middle name is different. His son's student loans appear on Equifax every year and he has to dispute them.
Previous marriage for me, there was a lady who had the same first name, middle initial and last name. All credit reporting agencies would have her information on my report.

Ressecionist: there are many scammers out there that bill you for things you know nothing of. I think they may even scan credit reports and target people.
BTW, your signature "Scared to file. Scared not to file. " I must comment on. The first step to any journey is the hardest to take. DO IT! Do it now or it could be a long time before relief the way our economy is going. 'Hub

I am preparing all my documents to file and have the lawyer's retainer waiting to give him. Just need a few new medical bills to come in - but yes, I am scared, all the way around.
The more research I did, it seems this traces back to a Columbia House account that I am pretty sure I canceled way back when, but heck, if it's on the credit report, I am going to list it so it can get discharged.

National Recovery has been calling me for a long time too. Automated phone calls that leave half of a message. The thing is I know they know about my bankruptcy because there's something they added to my credit report about the bk. I don't understand what it means. Of course they were also in my matrix.
In the past couple of weeks I've been getting more and more auto dialer CA's calling me. I've been in BK since December and am still not discharged. I know they're updated on the extension and whatnot so why would they suddenly decided to violate the automatic stay? Even more frustrating is that I actually do answer the phone now, get told to hang on the line and then after 10 minutes get a recording saying no one is available and to try again later. Jerks.

We have our second mortgage with CitiBank. We filed the first part of Janurary and they keep calling, 2 times each day. It is their bankruptcy department that is calling!.

Get them to violate the FDCPA and then sue them in small claims court for 1000.00!
