We have our meeting of the Creditors on October 25th. We got a letter in the mail today saying our first payment is due the 23rd of October. It seems odd that we have to make a payment before we have even met with the Trustee?? Anyone else run across this?

Yes I have. My 1st payment to the trustee is due before the 341 mtg. I have been instructed to bring the payment to an orientation program which is held several days prior to my 341.

We encountered the same thing when we filed last year. I believe our first payment was in October and our meeting was in November. We heard a few people go before us and some of them didn't make their first payments yet. They weren't dismissed and it didn't seem like a big deal, but they were told to start paying immediately. Yes, your first payment is due within 30-45 (depending on district) days of the date you filed your petition. It may seem odd, but those are the rules.Comment
