    Stupid question about account numbers

If you lose or have a credit card stolen and you have a new card issued, does that change the account number? I cut up one of my creditcards months ago and my credit report lists the account number as the old creditcard number (at least I think so, I can't recall) and now I'm afraid I'm listing the wrong number. The company won't give out the full creditcard number as a protection to me, but I really want to list it accurately.

What happens if the account number I list is wrong, but obviously the previous one?

Its more important to list the creditor-having the account # isn't important.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Yes they probably issued you a new account number, most do...
Just list the name/address of the credit and it should cover all accounts with that creditor.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

We had different account numbers for the same creditor, granted our we medical bills, but some were under my hubby's name and ss# some were under my name and ss#, and some under the kids. However the lawyer just listed it as one creditor. As long as we had the creditors name and address.
