The problem is that anytime someone proposes building a windmill farm, solar power planet, nuclear power plant, geothermal power plant or wave generation plant everyone and their uncle in the proposed area gets the not in my back yard attitude, whether it is to save migratory birds or their view, to save the desert turtle, oh it might meltdown (no accidents in 30 years), that might disrupt the warm of the earth..., oh that'll kill fish and we can't sail our yachts over there anymore if you do that.

So if we want to be Energy Independent we have to be willing to build those technologies and have them potentially next door to us. It's like Al Gore complaining about global warming/climate change while he and his wife live in a mansion that is obviously more than they need burning up to 10 times the electricity and resources of the average family of their size. If we want real change we need real leaders that are willing to first make the sacrifice themselves not just folks with some pretty speeches and a business plan to become billionaires.
