One of my creditors is Citifinancial Retail Services and the debt is for furniture. Is that secured? I listed it as unsecured, and if it is secured, can I amend that? TY

Furniture purchase... secured or unsecured?

We had a furniture loan through CitiFinancial too, from a local store that went out of business and sold our loan to them. The lawyer said it was a secure loan.
Interestingly, we were supposed to reaffirm the loan, but they never produced any papers for us to sign. My husband went to their office to pay our bill ($20 payment / $400 balance), and they said our balance was zero. He explained the situation, told them we were supposed to reaffirm, but their computer didn't have anything on us. (??)
They've never made another peep, never sent us another bill, nor have we made any more payments (heck, we tried!). The furniture's not worth repossessing, so I guess they just wrote it off. If they send me a bill, I'll pay it, but I'm not going to chase them down and force them to take my money.
We've had a gazillion problems in the past with their local offices anyway, so somehow I'm not surprised they don't know their ear from their elbow.
But anyway, our lawyer said it was a secure loan.Filed Chapter 7 (Medical Bills) - 12/16/04

Update 2/15/11 - Still totally debt-free except for the mortgage, which we're paying down quickly!
