Only good credit - car payment?

we're in debt, owe back federal and state taxes and the only good credit we have semi-established is a car payment. does anyone know if South Carolina requires car payment in bankruptcy and how that will effect the rating?

the minute you file, whether your car is in or out of the payment plan, it will be notated on your credit report as included in wage earner plan. If that is your only decent payment history, then it could help you out once you are done with BK. Actually filing will help your credit if you have lots of late payments and charge offs reporting (because by LAW now, Experian vs White) the only notation that can appear on your credit report no later than discharge date is IIB, zero balance (this stops creditors from reporting charge off's AFTER they have received notification of your filing and there is law now to back it up)
