So my parents gave dh a truck to drive when can we transfer it?

My parents gave dh a truck and I'm wondering when will it be safe to transfer it? Tomorrow is day 60 for us and the transfer will be done as a gift. It's nothing extravagant. Going by our counties Black Book estimates it's valued at $6500 max.

I agree, and also, I would wait till the tag is due so that you won't have to pay a partial year. Just make sure it is insured or that their insurance would cover you. (It's called a hardship coverage as long as it is temporary. This according to my Allstate agent). 'Hub

We have full coverage on it and the tags are actually due in August. So as long as my discharge comes this month then it's okay to go transfer it?

Yeah you should be fine. Also, I don't know about where you are but in Louisiana a vehicle is exempt up to $7,500.
