    Renting from Mortgage Company

We would like to stay in our house even though we did not reaffirm and have no hope of getting a new loan. Has anyone heard of the mortgage company renting the home to 'used to be owners' after foreclosure?

Are you continuing the payments? This is called a ride through. If you are making th payments for now, then in a sense, you are renting the property.

In any case, banks and lenders are not in the business of owning real estate, not being landlords, so don't count on it.

Actually I just read something on that like, yesterday - I think they are trying to introduce legislation about it. Try googling it.
