My divorce was final in July and I went back to my maiden name. I filed for CH7 on 10/12/05 with an attorney. All my CC debts are in my married last name and of course I mentioned this to my attorney. I just got the letter from the bankruptcy court yesterday (adressed to me in my maiden last name) and there is a box that is used for listing any other names used by the debtor and it's blank. Should I contact my attorney about this? Does anyone know if there will be a problem if I don't make sure this is updated to show I used a different last name in the past? Thanks in advance

Yes..contact your attorney...He need to list all ALIAS in the forms where it asked for it.. I am pretty sure of this. When my husband and I filed I listed my ex husbands last name along with my maiden name and my married name now, because I still have REALLY REALLY old debt in my 1st husband's last name. To much info in that dept. is better than not enough...
Hope that helps,

You must list all names you have used in the past.... maiden, married, made-up names, etc.
Please have your attorney take care of this for you...

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
