I have searched the whole forum and can't find a suitable answer. If there is, go easy, first time poster!
I had my 341 meeting exactly 30 days ago so I am half way there. I own a second home in another state but not my primary. The second home was for sale for 2 years and didn't sell. I had totally prepared to let the place be forclosed on and quit paying my mortgage in march. 2 days after filing I had 2 people make serious offers and I have been stalling. There is also a IRS tax lien on the house. Here are my questions....
1 Must I wait for dismissal to formally accept an offer?
2 Must I wait until the dismissal to contact the IRS about releasing the lean to sell the house(forgot what that is called) Also, since my lien is from an old debt I asked for that debt to the irs to be erased/reduced since it is 5 years old so I have no idea what the lien amount will be if any?
3 Must I wait until the dismissal to contact BofA to tell them my intentions? I am not going to reaffirm.
Thank you so much for this board. I only wish I had found it before I filed. Things would have been so much easier.
