I signed my petition today and now have officially entered into BK. Now it's hurry up and wait. At least now I can stop the phone calls.

Congratulations. For what it's worth, it was the months leading up to filing that were pure hell for me. So far, it's been so calm and SO worth it since our filing. Good luck at the 341, from what I know they're a piece of cake. Just be honest.

killinstinct, thanks. Yeah the last 3 months have taken years off mine and my wife's lives. Creditors start at 8am and don't give up until 9pm. I would imagine we get on average 30-35 calls a day. Well tonight I will be answering the phone and can finally give them some information!

They notify the creditors electronically pretty quickly! I got 2 calls the morning after I filed, then no more after that. What a relief!!!!!!!!!!

I will be filed next week. Can't wait to get this over with. It's been a long journey. I need a fresh start! Wish you luck with your BK!

I miss the calls now. It feels so weird to have the phone ring and have somebody who's not a bill collector call.

Enjoy your relief and your learning experience! Way to go!!!!

Congratulations! In my experience, it was all the research and the second guessing, and the denial, and the self recriminations that I had BEFORE I filed that were hard. Once I filed I felt a sense of relief, that finally I was doing something to move forward and change my life for the better.

Good for you BC7114. It's kind of funny, today I got a threatening letter from US Bank stating they were trying to "verify my employment". I called them up and made sure they knew I filed, had case # and attorney information. They were falling over themselves apologizing (I had given this information to them weeks ago). I think it was a form letter that just fell through the cracks. Really funny how the attitude changes once you file, almost instantly...

It took years off my life too. I know the best way to ensure i never go through this crap ever again. I'm going to stick around nd help others as much as I can. It will also remind me to never purchase anything on credit again, or at least until I can pay it all off by the next statement.

I was looking at some of my photos and within I year I have seriously aged 5 years because of this stress.
