    Notifying creditors...esp. CC debts!?

After filing prior to the new law taking effect (Ch. 7 on 10/12), I checked over the mailing addresses for the unsecured credit cards I owed. The tax advisor who did my forms got the addresses from the credit report he pulled. All but one of the addresses were different from what I normally sent the payments to. I know that the courts have mailed out the notifications but don't know if I should in turn send each credit card company a note about the filing?? My common sense says that I should leave well enought along. But part of me (the guilt of not paying) says to mail them something (the petition number etc.). I have been told to not pay anymore credit card payments since these are the very things that will hopefully be wiped clean later after the 341 meeting and the waiting time (60 days or so?). Can anyone offer some sound advise about these two questions:
    1) Should I send a notifcation on my own?
    2) Is not paying the credit card payments the correct move?

I was told also not to pay - senseless to do so if you are BKing that debt. I wouldn't send notification -- the courts will take care of that. If you get phone calls from creditors, I would then notify them of your filing.

Call those companies , ask for thier BK department, tell the bk dept. you have filed and give them your case number. I had a few of mine keep calling
after notices were sent by the court, they apparently had not recieved notification. I didn't have case number with me at time they called . So I called them, got bk dept.# and gave them the info. No more calls. And NO you are not suppose to pay those debts.

You used a TAX ADVISOR to prepare your forms? Holy moly are you in hot water. You should have used an attorney. Would you have used your tax advisor to pull a tooth? You are in effect going on pro-se and representig yourself using forms perpared by someone you paid to play fill in the blanks. Somewhere, somehow you're going to make a mistake that could cost you big time. I suggest you take everything and get to an attorney asap.

I wouldn't worry about it - anyone can fill out the forms if the information given to them is correct - I went pro se and "so far" no problems. A lot of people go pro se. If it is a simple, straight forward BK, no problem.
