    Is this a good sign?

Hubby got an app for capital one last week and I took a chance and applied.

Today I got a call from them asking to confirm my personal information. Is this a good sign or am I going to get the denial letter?

But be careful of hackers : NEVER give SSN# or birth day information on phone, .. because all CC company ALREADY have these on their file when you fill out apps online.

Sorry I didn't finish the rest of my post - I was a little pressed for time.

I know exactly what you mean, bkonce. I have an alert on my reports due to fraud that happened some years back.

The call went smoothly, them asking me if this was my birth date, was that the last four of my social, was it correct that I'd lived at my current address for x years, etc. At no time did I give them any information. I just wasn't sure if the banks take to stringing people along only to give them a kick in the pants.

Even if they give me a small CL, I'll be fine with it. It'd end up being a card for gas or something. Nothing huge.

I got my card in the mail Friday with a 1k credit limit, and a cute pic of my kitty on the front. I haven't used it yet, but I will probably do so Monday when I get gas for the car.

I got suckered into the credit card insurance, but that will be cancelled when I get the paperwork. I had to sort of argue with the agent activating the card that I didnt' want the ID theft and credit report stuff. I get ID theft protection from my credit union, which includes my getting my credit report anytime I want at no cost.

Ughh, I know what you mean. I just got my Capital One card on Friday too and when I called to activate it (thinking it was going to be automated...no), a real live person, trying to "sell" me everything. I tried to cut her off a couple of times by saying that I just wanted the card activated...period...but she went through her whole speech... I hope it isn't like that if I have to call for customer service! Also, are you getting calls from Capital One regarding "products you might be interested in?"...gosh, I wish I didn't put my real home number down on the application....

I did. They had even filed a lawsuit against me. I filed BK before they got a judgment and they dismissed the case. I got a Cap1 card with $500 limit 6 months after my discharge.

Wow, I filed on 3 Cap 1 cards and all three ended up on judgements. I was never late with them for years until one day the sh^t hit the fan and that was that.
