The same group of Idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

I can't vouch for the absolute truth here, but I've seen similar before and found this on another site. I've been looking for it since the new law took effect.

Not to get off thread Gen but in the 70's as a teen I can remember stealing parts for my 58' Chrysler Saratoga from a car lot on 77street and 27th Ave. in Liberty City in Miami. The place was a junk lot with cars going back to the 40's with weeds sticking out of them. Three black brothers owned the lot and the bar next door. They and the bar patrons caught my buddies and me after 12 midnite in the backlot, shirts full of tools. They got mad, made threats, etc.. and we still went back next day to try to buy the parts, no biggie. Our worry (and they likely had worries they may show up) was if they had called those big 6ft. 240 lb. (white or black) Metro Dade Cops under Sheriff Kenneth Harms or the other guy I forget his name "when the lootin' starts the shootin' starts".

They could shoot carte blanche, beat your a*s carte blanche and talk to your dad who would then beat your a*s carte blanche for "besmurching the family name and pullin' monkey shines". They were big boys, backed up by authority with the power to kick your a*s and the mag lite and club to do it. Today we have the sweet report writing, rather unimposing versions of a "Police Officer" with babies and grandbabies and pampers. They have been trained as differently as night and day compared to those whose motto was to win on the street.

I'm not condoning all those boys did, but I'll tell you this, you respected them. Some of them were OK, didn't mind a little stupidity (usually pot was involved), some were jerks and some were just regular Joes. On Orange drive in Davie and by MDCC in Miami they would sometimes block off the streets for drag racing, just to burn off the hot nites. A different world, my gosh, what a different, unforgiving bearaeucratic, social experiment we have become.

AAAArt - I have read and heard the same thing. Must be some truth in it.
Heard the old saying - Money talks - bullshit walks.

Before the new legislation, cc companies might work with you, lower your interest rate (put a hold on charging priviledges), etc. SOem would even settle for a portion of the amount owed. Now what is their incentive?NONE!!!!!! They know you have to jump through hoops and you may not qualify for chapter 7.
If you have enough money, you can hire the lobbyist to "Sell" what you want.

I will about bet you that next year this time the cc companies will boast "HUGE PROFITS".

No, we don't have to use them. Yes, we should know the terms and conditions, etc. But what gives them the right to make up the rules as they go along.
In the future, you probably will see mortgages, etc. do the same thing. WHo knows what else is next.

I can believe those numbers. In 2005 Congress had Republican majorities in both houses. Good thing they didn't include Bush in that list - he'd be a multiple offender.

Yeppers, our Mayor is a Minister of a very large African American Church, he is also a Mortician, and then of course our Mayor. He lives now in his Funeral Home as he has become a new Daddy. Nope, not his wifes, his girlfriends. Divorce being filed in another County. It has been said, he has taken money for favors, but this is a very small town and you can't get real close to many things here.
