a means test question: spouse lives separately no shared income

Spouses live separately and independently with no shared income and no shared expenses with the intention to reunite. One spouse is filing for bankruptcy. Will the second spouse have to be included into the means tests in the state of CA?

The means tests asks for hh income. If the non filing spouse is not part of the hh, don't list it.
