Finally got Meeting of Creditors date -- March 6th, 2006! Is this good or bad?

Well I guess its good that I got a case number, a judge, and a date but is it good that it will be a long time until just that meeting?

I filed on Oct 14 before the law changeover. Will the trustee have a right to ask me about money I have made since I filed or is everything after the filing date "not involved" with this case (so long I don't win the lottery, inherit, ...). Basically, I just got a new job last week making ok wages - better than I was before I filed.
    Filed: October 13th, 2005
    341: April 11th, 2006 (Took 6 mos.)
    Discharged: May 31st, 2006
    Closed: May 31st, 2006

yes they can ask about that and you need to tell the truth no doubt.

technically its all about what happened before and up to the filing. i have no clue as to why then they can ask about other things. attorney doesnt give me a good answer either. i just chalk it up to something that just happens.

best advice from me or any attorney is that the case goes better for the debtor when everything stays the same until after the 341 at least if not until after the discharge as well.

It's not really good or bad, it's what you make of it. It is a royal pain to have to wait that long.
In one sense, your fresh start begins the day you file.
OTOH, they want to make sure that you are not abusing the system by things changing too drastically immediately after filing. You have plenty of time to compare expenses vs income on the new job. If you have been skimping on some things and your new pay level allows you to have higher yet reasonable expenses, you may want to amend your filing.
My understanding is that "Are you still employed at the same location?" is one of the more standard questions, but often nothing comes of it.
      Best to you. Art
