Given that the courts are so backed up, I'm thinking most of us who filed in the month or so prior to the new law going into effect are going to be waiting a while for discharge. Some people aren't even going to their 341 meetings until March.
I'm learning that this whole process is an excercise in patience and managing anxiety. (Of course, anti-anxiety medication is a plus.)Amy M.

Just so I get this straight. . .it is longer than the 60 days to be discharged because the courts are so backed up??? Or that all you are waiting on is the letter?? What does it say on Pacer for you??
Our last day of objections is 11/29. .does that mean we won't be discharged until after that? I am so sick with worry with everything.
I just have to vent. My stepdad has had a sore throat for the past 2 or 3 months. .he went to an ear nose and throat specialist the other day about it. The doc looked down his throat and found a growth. He wants to take a biopsy to see if it is cancer of the Larynx. Unfortunately, his father had cancer of the Larynx about 10 years ago (but is okay now).
I am just so worried as my step dad is only 44 years old. I am genuinely one to worry anyhow but as you can imagine we have so much on our plates right now.
Sorry for unloading on you all but I have found so much comfort on this forum just knowing that we are all going through the rough times of bk together.
Thanks again.BK Status

Understood very well Nervous. I too (in my previous BK) was told "Oh, it'll come after 2 months or so" Yes it did, 2 months 2 weeks 4 days and a LONG afternoon waiting for that lazy carrier..
It could very well be that they (The workers) are thinking "Oh, we've got loads of work, since they are set, let's not bother yet with the discharge paperwork" Of course, I can be wrong, but always think the worst and get surprised.
I'd not be surrpised if they just have major backloads and are working OT at a major amount to clear the backlog..
You're in Ohio? I'd not be the least surprised to find hundreds or thousands have filed in the past few weeks to beat the deadline...That can cause any system to just about plug solid.

My personal opinion, based on no fact whatsoever, is that they prob. are not allowed overtime (at least not paid overtime) and that is why the big backlog and delays. I doubt that there is money in the state and court budgets for the clerks, etc, to pay them OT. Good point, after all, it's bureaucracy!

That very well could be the answer also...Why, getting a PS to actually WORK is hard enough
(Ok, OK In SOME areas, not all)
