    I Need more time

I had my Meeting of the Creditors continued due to not answering the question correctly due to not meeting with the trustees and not having a lawyer. The trustees never sent me a letter so I didn't know I was supposed to meet with them. Anywho When the judge was asking me questions I had no idea what to say ( I was so confused) So the judge decided to have me to come back & suggested that I get a Lawyer. Next Tuesday the 22nd is the day I suppose to go back but thats not enough time for me because I need to find a GOOD lawyer and get my paperwork together. I really need more time. Will they let me have more time or just throw the whole thing out?

Well, you CAN request from the judge, more time, if you don't have the cash, say so. They can "Continue" it or dismiss and allow you to refile.

How long ago was the orginal hearing? I don't know about Bankruptcy court, but regular courts would not be too keen about extending a 2nd time without good reason, particularily if you have had a long time since the last hearing.

If you can get a lawyer in the next few days then let them handle any additional continuance. If you can't get a lawyer, contact the bankruptcy court and ask if you can get a second continuance and see what they say

        Thanks Guys
My first meeting was on Oct 31 and it wasn't until last week when I went to do the Amendment papers myself that I relized its alot of info I don't know and need the help of a lawyer.
What I'm really thinking about doing is having it dismissed. I called the Bankruptcy Clerk a few minutes ago and she said I could File a Motion to Voluntarily Dismiss it and can re-file at a later date because right now I feel like I'm rushing trying to get everything together and I just do have the money. I may just try to pay my dept off myself because compared to some people it's not all that much. I just hate that the "Filed Bankruptcy" will stay on my Credit Report for 10 years but atleast I already have a car and a house. With my situation I really should have gotten a lawyer first.
