    Reaffirm??

Hi, Just wondering if someone could explain something to me. A friend of mine told me that her sister just filed Ch. 7. I have also filed Ch. 7. She had to actually give stuff back; jewlery, a fur coat, items off the home shopping network, big items etc... I don't have to give anything back. My case is very simple. I don't have a lot that would catch their attention.

Why do people have to give their stuff back? And how is that determined?

    Thanks!!

If the girl had to surrender items (fur, jewelry, etc) purchased on a home shopping network she used their own credit card that was a secured card. That meant the items would have to be returned or paid for..... Not all cc are secured but some of the home shopping network credit cards are..... The items stand good for themselves, till their paid for. Especially fur, jewelry, and big items....
Just like a car is a secured item.... you can't pay for it - they are going to repo......

    Hope that helps explain.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
