Today I received a letter from central credit services for a account that I had. My bk has been discharged for about 4 months now. When I informed them that they were breaking the law the mans response was "Don't threaten me PUNK!". I am trying to find out who I can contact in the state of Florida to file a complaint with. I find it appalling that a company would have such disregard for a federal law. I am going to email whoever I can to inform them of the call. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Since you have already filed BK (Ch 7) this debt is discharged. Send them a copy of your discharge and a strongly worded letter that you will bring sanctions against them for attempting to collect on discharged debt. Even if they were not on your matrix they are discharged, there is case law to that effect. Check here for good case law to support your side http://www.myfaircredit.com/forum/index.php
You can also report them to the Attorney General for violating the discharge injunction.Filed CH 7 9/30/2008
Discharged Jan 5, 2009! Closed Jan 18, 2009
I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..
