    Paying Medical bills before 341?

Hello all! We have filed Chp 7 and have our 341 mtg on 12/16. However, I am still receiving medical bills from a couple of places (not turned over to collections yet, straight from Dr's office, etc), and they are really small amts (probably less than $40 total). My question is, these expenses were incurred BEFORE our filing date, and I believe 1 of the places is listed on our Matrix...but I don't have acct numbers from the matrix to coincide with the statements from Dr offices, etc...

Should I pay them, or will that "look bad" to the bankruptcy trustee? And because they were filed w/our health insurance first, the bills didn't arrive until after we'd filed, so I know one of the Lab bill's weren't included on our original paperwork.

Any advice? Thanks for everyone listening!

given the menial amounts, and if you have the means to pay them, pay them and be done w/ it.

If you've corrected them on the creditor matriz, you don't "have" to pay them, however, sometimes if it is a small amount, sometimes it may be worth paying so that they won't require cash in advance or you feel guilty every time you see your doctor. Actually, it's basically your call. They can be discharged or you can pay them. Shouldn't make any diff. to the Bk. Art

you dont need to have listed them to have them inlcuded in the bk.

if you forgot to list something then that debt is still wiped out regardless.

fax them the cover sheet of your BK filing from the court with a copy of their debt letter and tell them its gonna be discharged.

I sprained my ankle back in August. Went to a medical center to have an Xray, I paid something like $25 at the time of service but got a bill for $225 for the Xray. I did not include it in my BK...can I send them a copy of the cover sheet for my bankruptcy?

it cant hurt. if the debt was incurred before you filed and there was no intention of filing or not paying the debt then you should be ok. just make sure they feel that same way.

you wouldnt want a new debt to show up after bk and mess with your credit history.

Absolutely...I would have included my bills water/electric/cable whatever but I didn't want to deal with the higher security deposits....maybe I can just pay them $25 a month? till it's done?
