    Notes about Pacer, reporting, etc.

I was curious about how my district is in terms of being current or not on paperwork, etc. I know they were in good shape at the time I filed, a little more than a month before the 'change' as my 341 was exactly 30 days after I filed.

Searched on my judge, only 1 case that was filed from 8/15-8/29 is 'closed'. Apparently, my trustee didn't start receiving cases til 9/8-I'm guessing they brought on more trustees in anticipation of the overload.

On 10/14, of course, there were LOTS of people to file ch. 7. The first one entered for the day has a 341 on 12/8, but the last filer that same day has a 341 for 12/27. (Not too bad, I suppose, considering some areas have 341's scheduled for the spring!!) I didn't check 10/15 and 10/16, but technically I suppose some people filed those days thru their attorneys and electronic filing.

After the 'change', no one filed until 10/24. That has a 1/3 341 scheduled. But, the person who filed on 10/24: notice to creditors wasn't mailed out til 11/12.

I found a pre 10/17 case where someone filed ch. 7 w/ less than $8000 in unsecured debt. He didn't have a secured vehicle, and was reaffirming his mortgage (no equity). Paid $800 + $209.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
