I posted a reply to you in 'rebuilding credit'.

Most info that gets removed from reports happens because most of the time, delinquent accounts are reported with errors. Finding the errors, pointing them out to the credit bureaus, and being persistent with it can lead to getting the wrong/bad accounts removed.

Paying someone for this is a waste of money, and there is no guarantee that they'll deliver.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

There are 4 main things which these "companies" do. 2 of them you can do yourself and the third/fourth should never be done.
        1. Report items as "inaccurate and/or outdated". Everyone should check their CR's for these and have them corrected.
        2. Request that the lender "verify" the report. This is specific legal language and if the lender does not reply (which they sometimes don't) the CRA's have to remove the item. Worthwhile info, but certainly not worth 7 grand.
        3. Claim that you are starting a new business and thereby get a new credit identity. Sounds good, but guess what they check by...your SS#, so your old report will come up...even if you have a taxpayer ID#.t still leads back to your SS#.
        4. Start a new identity with a new SS#. Not only is this illegal, it's stupid. Unless you can find a dead person w/ good credit, you will have no credit and therefore very low credit scores.
Sorry to tell you, but all that these people know how to do is scam the uninformed. Art

Your aunt would be throwing 7,000$ down the toilet. Stop her before she does it if you still can.

I agree!!! They can probably only remove errors in reporting, but paying 7k is not at all worth it whether they can remove it or not. If I had 7k and a negative report and someone offered to clean it for real, I would still keep my 7k and ride the negative report out. If your aunt is doing this to clean her report so she can get cheaper financing I doubt the cheaper financing will save her 7k.

If she wrote a check, there's a "Stop payment"

Other then that, get her to file a police report for fraud (And use it as a threat for a refund) and if they won't, then file it for real.

Plus, there's BBB and FTC also which also take this matter seriously.
