    amendments to bk?

I filed on September 16, had my 341 meeting in October.

I've been trying desperately to get caught up on bills. I'm realizing now that what I did was use credit to fill in the gaps when I couldn't afford everything I needed in a given month. No cards. It's hard to breathe around here. Electric bill is in the 700's, a couple months behind, but I keep playing let's make a deal. Also, just found out that my home owner's assn. put me in collection for delinquent fees for about three years, plus they tacked on fees. I owe them about a grand.

My question is: can I add these to my bk? My discharge date is 12/27. I recall my lawyer saying something about a fee, but that was before my 341, so I don't even know if it's possible at this point. Also, got another doctor bill for around 800.

    Any suggestions?

I know for sure that you cannot add anything that was incurred after filing. As far as adding other things now, the experts will chime in on that.
    Filed CH7 - 10/13/05;
    341 Meetings: 11/28/05, 3/20/06, 12/4/07 (3d time's a charm!)
    Converted: 2/15/06 (to CH13), 10/15/07 (Back to CH7)
    DISCHARGED: 2/15/08

You should be able to add debts if you owed them before filing. In terms of the utilities, though, anything from file date til now you would still owe, and they could charge a new deposit. In the end, it may not be a major advantage to add it.

For the home owners dues, I don't know if that would impact your mortgage? Its not an area I'm familiar with. Ask your attorney!
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Any additions you make must be dated before filing date, I believe. Its based on your status at filing date.

Did you file pro se?? or attorney??

          Accentone,
Go to your utility companies and sign an extension and make arrangements on a payment plan to catch up your utilities. Just remember, you agree to the payment plan.... That will take some of the pressure off and they will not turn off utilities unless you deliberately break agreement with them.....

They will work with you if you just ask....

Normally you have to pay what is DUE and then a partial payment on what is PAST DUE......

Min, I made arrangements with utilities, but it's still so d___ high every month!Maybe I should call and try to get it lowered still.

btw, I do have an attorney. I'm just so peeved that they actually put me in collections.
