    newbie dazed and confused

    Aloha,

    I visit this so often and read everybody's posts. This has been such a great help for my transition into filing bk. I have filed chapter 7.

    So the dazed and confused part is the thing says, "awaiting closing, discharge 12/14/2005. What does this all mean? Will it go through?

    I filed bk on 09/07/05, 341 mtg 10/12/05, and last objections was 12/12/05. So what happens now?

    So desperate for some words of help!

    If there's no objections after 12-14/17-05 then get ready with a bottle of bubbly..You've just joined the 60 day club!

      You're pretty much done (unless the trustee hears about some asset that you hid). Its just a matter of time for them to officially enter your discharge.
      Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

        LOL I think Mel is past the 60-day club. Last date for objections was 12/12/05. You have been discharged Mel! You are done (for the most part) now you have to wait for closing. I've been discharged since 11/1/05 and still haven't been closed yet. We should have a "discharged club"!

          Congrats! You're done. Most places seem to be runnung slow with the official declaration due to the fact of so many filers before the new law and the holiday work schedules.
          Your worries are over, now you are just waiting for the official paperwork. Art

            Aloha, Mel! I'd agree with the others...you're about home free...just in time for that northwest swell coming in tomorrow!
            Filed CH7 - 10/13/05;
            341 Meetings: 11/28/05, 3/20/06, 12/4/07 (3d time's a charm!)
            Converted: 2/15/06 (to CH13), 10/15/07 (Back to CH7)
            DISCHARGED: 2/15/08

                Thanks everyone for replying! I feel relieved from my shoulders a ton of bricks and an entire car. Thanks for all your help. I checked on pacers and printed out I guess its my final discharge papers dated the 12/14/05.
