    insurance on surrendered car:

I would like to surrender my car (that was included in chapter 7). How do I do this. I don't want a repo truck to come into my neighborhood and tow my car away in front of my neighbors. Can I cancel insurance on that car now or do I have to wait until they come and repo it, sell it, or what? Thanks for the advice!

Call the lender, see if you can make arrangements to leave it at a lot.

You need to keep it insured as long as its in your possession. If something happens without insurance, the fines & penalties are HUGE and you don't want that to hurt your 'fresh start'.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Talk to the lender. When we surrendered our van, the guy came to the door, and asked for the keys and he drove it off, no tow truck or anything.
I called the insurance the day he came and cancelled it.

see if you can arrange anything.

if you are sure you want to surrender it then call them and let them know. if you want to make super sure it doesnt get towed from your house, because you never know if they are going to come drive it or tow it, then make sure you park it elsewhere instead. they may tow it and embarass you.

maybe leave it at a a friends house instead.
