Christmas Bonus

My wife and I separated in September. We filed Chapter 7 in early October. Together we had a pretty high income for our area, but could no longer could make the credit card payments plus keep two households. We had or 341 meeting on Dec 5th.

My question is could receivivng a Christmas bonus at work cause problems.

sure can. anything you get belongs to the trustee unless you can exempt it.

guess we will see if they figure it out or not maybe is how i would state it.

also, do you know for a fact-fact-fact that you will be getting it? is there a change you might not get it? could they end up not giving them out to you this year at all?

if the 341 is over its probably a lost and forgotten item imo.

I could talk to them about holding off until next year. I think my attorney would say OK, but he worries me a little bit on some things he says.

in general the attorney knows best. hes been doing this for many years i hope adn knows how the trsutee and bk process works.
