Salary lag question at 341 meeting

Any idea why the trustee was asking this question at the 342 meeting:

"When you receive your two week paychecks are you paid up to the last day that you worked? Or is there a one week lag, or two week lag when you are paid?"

Whether it's one, two, or zero weeks, your paycheck is still the same. Why would the trustee care about it?

    Thanks,

It seems odd to me that they would ask as most states have an exempt to cover unpaid but earned wages. If this state doesn't, then it could be simply that money owed to you is an asset of your BK estate.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

      not all trustees are smart

ok, they ask that so they can figure out closer to how much you have available from the time you filed. for whatever reason, who knows why, he is looking closer at your expenses, amount of cash and income - maybe he doesnt trust your petition and is trying to figure something out, or is looking to take something from you - like cash.

it also could be something he misunderstood. who really knows. ive learn that there is nothing we can do but sit and wait adn see if they squeal like the piggies they are.
Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

Wow! I think you answered my question. I'm going to check to see how my state does it. Thanks a lot.
