Anyone been through an appraisal on a paid off vechicle?

    file date 10/15
    341 11/14
    Notice of assets filed 11/25...

Has anyone who owned a vehicle outright had an appraiser come from the trustee's office to figure out the worth of their car?

I own nothing of value except my 2000 4Runner...I've talked about it before (i.e. mom has lien on title...trustee has copy of title...)

    I'm in FL...sucks...what happens next?

If your mom is listed as a lien holder ON THE TITLE - there's not a whole lot the Trustee can do as your mom is the creditor holding the lien on it.

IF ITS NOT ON THE TITLE - you have a serious problem - because then the car has no lien against it (except maybe verbal) and the Trustee can take it and sell it or make you pay him the value of it......

Its not unusual for an appraisor to come and look at property or autos.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Mom is on the title...thank god...

I'm just wondering since it was changed to an "asset" case on 11/25 and that whole thing with extra time on it...how long it would take them to schedule an appraiser to come out & look at the SUV....

my neighbor has a beautiful '97 acura integra coupe for sale next door & I'm going to take it for a test drive...but being in this undisposed state of bk...I really can't buy it & take title to it at this time...so that sucks...it looks to be in perfect condition too.....what to do...what to do.....can I call the trustee & ask him when the appraisal will be?

He may not know-he likely has a company that does the assignment, and they schedule it on their own terms.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
