    Credit in Bankruptcy

I know we are not suppose to have credit cards because they are bad, but I need one to help rebuild my credit, and because my car needs $200 in repairs which I can't right now, only in payments... Like I have $100 extra this month and $100 extra next month, but the place wont take payments, so I need to find a place where I can get a credit card. It is either that or a cash advance which charges 400% interest. So I would rather get a credit card. Does anyone know of a place that will accept people who are in bankruptcy??? Anyplace besides Orchard Bank? Reason for this is because I already have a card with Orchard and there debt is listed in my Bankruptcy. So they wont give me one. Anyone have any other Credit card companies in mind like ones they have used or heard about?

Dont worry I promise to be a good debetor
I wont run up my credit, after I pay it back I will cut it up, I WANT TO BE DEBT FREE

Any help would be greatly apreciated

Orchard is the main one I know of. Others (Capital One, Providian for example) will usually only issue an account if you already have accounts re-established.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

StaciMM is very forgetful. She started a thread on debtor friendly payday loans.

Or you can ask the members here who have filed for bankruptcy. They'll be happy to help you out.

The OP asked about credit cards right after BK, I answered him to the best of my knowledge.

If you would explore Patelco, they are a credit union. They offer a variety of services, and they control their approval process.

If you would read the post I created (after you created a sarcastic one) I did comment that there would be qualifications to the loan and that 'auto approval' should not be expected. I don't know what their approval process is-I don't work for them. For someone w/ an emergency just before payday, paying $10 for a 2 day loan is much more reasonable than the typical 'pay day loan' places.

The point is the OP needs money. So what if they only mentioned a credit card? If a thirsty man asked for water, and all you had was a bottle of Gatorade, would you withhold it?

Thank goodness I was here to help.

And thank you for spelling out the terms of the loan.

          $10 every 2 days for $750
That's only 243% interest. Much better than the 400% the OP was looking at paying.

Doesn't it take 4-6 weeks to get a new credit card anyway (don't remember, last time I applied for one was almost 10 yrs ago) and by that time you can save up for the repairs, I mean if it isn't so urgent. I just have a bad feeling about people in bankruptcy jumping into the same hole so quickly and with the same delusions.

I got an Orchard CC 1-month after bankruptcy. Unsecured, $500 limit, and a $29 annual fee.

Have you been pulling your credit reports? I started pulling 30-days after I filed and have been doing ever since. I recommend www.myfico.com/12 Know your credit scores prior to seeking credit. I believe Orchard will give you a credit card when you reach 590 and have an income of $1500/mo.

You probably don't need your fico scores every month. There are cheaper ways to get your credit report...

I do agree with you Staci that I probably don't have too pull my credit reports monthly, but it's been beneficial as I believe I have increased my score over 150 points in 5-months. I have corrected my reports every month since I filed my bankruptcy in June and received my discharge/case closed letter in October. This last month, there wasn't much to change other than a few small items. After January, I will probably go to once every 2-months and eventually every six months, then annually.

J-I'm checking my report constantly, just not by buying FICO scores. You can get a subscription that allows a daily pull of each of the 3 for $14.95/mo at PrivacyMatters.com or TrueCredit.com. (The PM one will allow multiple members of a household to access, still only $14.95/mo.) That is better than ~$35 (w/ a 20% discount code) for FICO's each time.
