    Capital One Authorized User

Just thought I would offer this bit of knowledge ( sure it has already been said) since you all have been so kind to me with your advice and support..

If you are added onto a Capital One account as a Authorized User, That persons ( the account holder) past credit history will be added onto your credit report.. This goes for negative items as well on the Capital One tradeline as well..

I was able to raise my wifes credit score by over 50 points adding two tradelines with 5 year payment history to her credit report..

Now she will be adding me to hers after my BK is through.. Of course I removed her from my Capital One accounts prior to my financial issues.. So the bad stuff wouldnt be reported on her credit reports.

I put this in BK7 forum as well.. Then realized I should have put it here.. Sorry

AU accounts can be good for re-establishing credit, or adding to a thin credit file.

Thanks for posting about Cap1-not all creditors report to the CRA's and I had not been able to get a clear answer about Cap1. DH & I are trying to maximize things-by 'sharing' accounts. He got a $500 limit Cap1, $19 annual fee, and we'll probably add me to it. (Each getting 2-3 accounts can turn into 4-6 tradelines for the 2 of us...)

I might have to post the before & after pics...

You have to get your own Cap1. I'm not going to suggest that Dh add 'Bkfiler' who resides at www.bankruptcyforum.com to the card.

She is fine-kids get over things easily. Now, when you ask her where her hair is-she says its on the top of her head. If you ask her where the rest is, she says she doesn't know...

Funny thing is I had authorized users on my Capital One credit card that was included in my BK.. But I had taken them off a month prior to me stopping payments... capital one still shows good payment history on them but last reported like in 5/05 and thats it no more reporting.. just says open acct good standing.. how can this be ? Should they call to close it out with Capital one and has anyone have this happen. My friend actually never used her card I had cancelled it month after I had added her. That was to help her credit but Who knew I was going BK Rupt..

They should not call and ask that the account be closed as long as it is still reporting as a positive tradeline
