you mean his is showing the discharge already or just the bk being filed?
if his shows discharge and yours doesnt then that is a good reason for the difference.
not everyone can get updated at the same time. and scores vary depending on who knows what. its a toss up.
it will show on both. give it 30 days or less to show discharge after date of discharge. sometimes it will be right away.Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

We just put in disputes on 1/14/06 to TU....Hubby's reports is all cleared!! Instead of noting the accounts are discharged, they removed them entirely??Originally posted by JeepMomAny reason for this? His score on TU is almost 60pts higher than mine rights now. His is showing the BK mine is not?
Anyways....I disputed mine the SAME day as hubby's, actually before Hubby's, mine in the am, his in the pm....and Mine was not fixed
yet!!!!
Go figure??
Must be a man thing...LOL Just joking!!!
You can call TU, I did and found out that all the info IS corrected, and I will be getting the updated report in the mail. It was nice to talk to a person , and get answers for each and every account. I wish all 3 reports did that!!

Well, if the BK is not on your report-that is not a bad deal. Just work on getting the accounts corrected. Dispute by saying "I do not owe a balance of $X to So-and-So Credit Card."Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

I've got my letter all typed up, cr printed with red marker (crayola none the less! LOL!) I'll send it off and I'm just disputing the status listed as deragatory, asking that is be changed to closed. WHo knows right? My score can't go down for trying to correct it.Filed 09/05

Suggestion-dispute it as being inaccurate. You want to get it deleted if possible. If not deleted, then corrected would be good. It IS derogatory-you didn't close the account in good standing, afterall. But if it is reporting that you owe the creditor, that is not true.
Some things I've read-is that the bureaus scan letters into computers that are programmed to find certain key phrases. You will have better success if a person deals with your letter, and to make it difficult for the computers-use italic font, and colored font (not black) if possible.

yes its like a two step process. first state that its not yours due to something that is listed wrong. 'i dont have an amex account that i owe 5.50 on' etc. the second, after you have argued each inaccurate item on the account as not your one after another, then get it reported as correct as you can isntead. firsts go for deletion. then go for true correction.
if you dispute all your accounts in one gulp as just not yours then you can be sued by them for fraud. so do one at a time and stay out of trouble.
as staci was saying, make them do it by hand instead. write the letter in faint pencil and photo copy it to make it fainter. some people suggest using red ink on yellow paper. who knows.
also remember that you should never send in your actual bk paperwork to them after that then everything will be corrected or will be soon afterwards and there is no trying to get the bad accounts taken off. they now have their own internal proof that you sent them. yes the account will be correct but no more chances of getting anything off.Last edited by bkfiler; 01-19-2006, 08:38 AM.Im not an attorney or a trustee.
