    Discharge in Nevada!!

Just looked at Pacer and I saw that something was added about 7PM last night. I went into the "Status" area, hoping for a good message, and low and behold there it was: Order Discharging Debtor"!! I printed off the official form (Form B18) and had to read it a few times, front and back to let all this sink in. I guess I can describe the initial feeling as cautious enthusiasm...or something along those lines.
My concern is that from all the messages read in this forum there is still the matter of the closing of the case. Maybe someone who has had the experience could shed some light about this for me? Special thanks to the ones who wrote me personally and to all the great information and help provided by everyone in this trying and difficult period.

    Although I am no expert...

...being discharged is different from closed.

i.e., I was discharged 1/17. Trustee wants my tax refund; therefore, certainly no closing until that is received. Sooner I file, get refund check, mail check to trustee or however this end of it is handled and he receives check, sooner I can get closed? I hope.

        Discharge is GREAT NEWS............

Closing comes shortly thereafter, IF there are no assets (such as property to be sold, income tax refunds).
Otherwise you case will stay open until assets are sold, and income tax refunds are collected.

Then your case will close and become final........and basically completely over.

HOWEVER, remember the Trustee can petition the Court to re-open your case up to 1 year after closing if you should win the lottery, inherit money, or he should additional assets you ever claimed in your bankrupty. But he has to petition the court to reopen case and often judge does not agree with this....

        Discharge is a 'good thing'.......

        Congradulations, your almost done...........

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
