If a creditor is protesting your discharge, how can the judge grant the discharge? If the judge signed the paper to discharge the chapter 7 bankruptcy and that creditor is listed on the petition, wasn't it also discharged? Any info would be helpful.

If there were objections that went against you, the discharge may not apply to those debts. One creditor, though, cannot hold up the discharge of all your debts. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

If a creditor objects to a discharge - or files an advisary complaint - THEN only that creditor is NOT DISCHARGED until the issue is settled in a hearing... All other creditors would be discharged.
You did not say whether you filed pro se??
Did you receive a advisary complaint?
Was the creditor who objected a secure creditor?
Or was the creditor just requesting the stay be lifted?
Give us a few more details, maybe we can help...Minny

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
