Closing Date

I was discharged on 1/17/2006, closing has not happened yet.......pacer indicates I'm in my 28th day of waiting for closing. Nothing else shows on pacer except where one of the discharge notifications came back with an incorrect address on 1/30/2006. I'm listed as a chapter 7 no asset case.

Guess it will happen soon............seems like I remember something about the trustee having 30 days from the date of dischage before he/she closes a case.

I did have some land listed that I owned.............its located in the middle of nowhere surrounded by dirt roads............value was estimated at under $3500.............if the trustee wanted that land sold I'm sure I would know something about that by now.

Its possible that the Trustee is deciding what the do with the land before closing.... if he sees that its not exempt and can be sold for profit..... he will ask you to surrender it to the court. More than likely its more trouble than its worth too him, and he will abandon it back to you..

You'll just have to wait it out and hope for the best....

Sometimes they are very slow in closing cases.
