I filed on 2/3, and just got a bill for one of my credit cards dated 2/10. How long does the creditor have to stop asking for payment? Is it just based on when they recieve notification?

The stay starts upon filing, but in all honesty, they may not have been aware by the 10th. The 3rd was a Friday, the notices probably went out to the creditors somewhere between Wed. and Fri. (8th-10th), and add 2-5 days for mail time.Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
