If one converts a 13 filed and confirmed under the old law to a 7 (conversion, not dismissal and refiling), would the old law's requirements regarding 7 control or would the new law's requirements regarding 7 control?

My understanding is it goes by file date. SO if you convert an old law 13 into a 7, you go by old laws. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

That was my hunch, but when I asked my attorney about converting, he left a voice mail with what seemed to be a standard response about the means test. He has seemed somewhat disinterested now that the case has been confirmed and somewhat overwhelmed. May be looking for a new attorney, one that can spend a few minutes with my file before returning my call!
