    H&R Block Tax Cut

I recently received an HR block tax cut software in the mail. After reading all the previous postings, I am skeptical as to filing online... I don't want anybody to keep my tax return. I am even afriad of installing the software and go through the whole thing. I would rather prepare it, perhaps using this software, and mail it to the IRS, to avoid having anyone keep my tax return. Did anybody do this yet? I'm afraid that's because it's an HR block software, some of my creditors (as HR partners) might want to keep some or all of this. Any advice... or am I just being paranoid? THX!!!

I recently watched the suze orman show and she had a security expert on that discussed this same topic. According to him, the risk of handling your business online is only marginally higher then by us mail. As for having your return garnished, that is only if you use a rapid refund, or any other type of income tax loan. And the trustee will take it either way if he's told you that hes going to. So you can file electronically online, and get your tax return by mail faster, just don't use the rapid refund.

I filed my '99 tax return by mail, early in the tax season. After about 3 months, I received a letter from the US postal service. In it, was my tax return check, torn to pieces and shredded, with footprints on it. Included was a note the size of a fortune cookie piece of paper that read 'Your mail article was accidently destroyed. Sorry for the inconvenience. US postal service.'

Ok, this helps. I think we are going to use this H&R Block software, only we will mail it. I don't care how long it takes for my refund (usually 1.5 months as in previous years), as long as the Trustee doesn't get it, which I was told he won't. And we don't have any liability with the IRS, as told by my attorney (he got correspondence from the IRS telling him this), so I'm sure we'll be in good shape. There's a few things that need to be done in our house (some home improvements) and i'm hoping we could use that money towards that, and also have some $, just in case of rainy day... Thanks agian.
