Time period between Discharged and Closed

Does anyone know how much time the Trustee or Judge has between Case Discharged and Case Closed.

My case was discharged on 2/13/06. How many days do I have to wait for "Case Closed"

Hurray Just checked Pacer, Discharged 2/23/2006 TOO!! Now what?? When will they Close my case??? Help Help Bankrupcy GuRuS!!!

It will vary based on district, and whether or not the trustee is waiting on your tax return. If the latter, you won't be closed til after the tax return (and refund, if applicable) is submitted to the trustee. If no assets, close can happen at the same time as discharge, a few days later, a few weeks later, or more. Just depends on how the district does things.

If you have no assets, and your tax return was not mentioned, call the court clerk for your district and ask.

hehe, I was a no asset case as well.......discharged 1/26/06. Still waiting on closing. I called our clerk yesterday was basically told that I had to wait until they had the paperwork or whatever to process it. Lady was very rude.

I guess I'll keep patiently waiting..................
