Not Receiving preapproved credit card offers

Has anyone else had this problem of not receiving credit card solicitations. My bankruptcy was discharged on 2/10/06. I have a reaffirmed car loan and student loans showing as positive tradelines. My Fico scores are Equifax 649 Experian 669 Transunion 589(working on correcting some incorrect info).

I was on the opt out list but opted in over a month ago. I have not received any preapproved offers yet. I will be receiving my secured National City card in about a week. This morning I tried to get a HSBC card online and that was not even an option (Orchard came up instead). Should I wait until after the NCB shows up on my cr to apply for more credit. I was going to try Target but since I was already turned down from HSBC this am I think I will wait.

I want to rebuild my credit asap as I want to purchase a home in two years.

-I did receive an offer right after I filed BK from First Premier but shredded that.

That did happen to me I was also on the opt out list. I applied with HSBC they turned me down and so did target. I reapplied again on line and they said I would be most likely to get the orchard bank card I was approved. I would go ahead and re-apply.

It probably takes time for the Opt In to take effect.

HH's 'starting' product is the Orchard card. It still reports as HSBC-NV though.

Bronte - that doesnt seem right. We were inundated with credit card offers when we filed and immediately thereafter. I applied online for the Orchard card for myself and my husband and we were both approved and we included Household Bank in our BK...go figure...I also applied and received Target redcards for both of us and I got a Cap One card. The limits are low except Cap One's is $1000...not real high but I dont want it to be. I think they approved me because I had one years ago and had perfect credit with them. I dont recall what our scores were post-BK but a lender told me that if you have a credit score of 650 you should be able to get a loan and/or credit card. I think Staci's right the Opt-out probably has not taken effect yet.

Edward2-he said he was opted out and only recently opted back in. When you're opted out, your info is not available to potential creditors for offers.

                    me either

I was only recently discharged and still have a ton of stuff incorrect on my reports and my scores are still low. Cap One turned me down flat. Aspire said I was approved, but wanted some crapola that I was not willing to supply for their outrageous fees. (Copy of tax return, social security card and phone bill). No idea why. Been in the same place for almost 2 years, had the same job for 3 and the same phone number for a year. Whatever. I want no part of First Premier as they already screwed me royally a long time ago. I suspect I am just a pathetic dreg of society now...and though I really don't want to get myself in a pickle with credit, it would be nice to feel a little less worthless.

Bronte - I applied for Orchard cards for my husband and myself, Target redcards, Cap One and Juniper Bank. We did get them but our BK was discharged in August 2005. I waited a few months before applying. Really I probably should have waited longer but I was so anxious to rebuild our credit. IN the meantime I got our credit reports and am still cleaning them up. I am sure you will soon because you are FICO scores are not bad at all. Our scores were lower then yours when I applied. But look out once you get an unsecured card it will be like a runaway train with all the offers you will receive.
