Question about vehicle...Please help!

Hi,

I filed chapter seven back in October and I surrended my 1998 Neon, which I owed about $3200. Chrysler had charged it off and sold the account to a collections agency. My bankruptcy has since been discharged any no one has contacted me about it. I have since got another vehicle. My question is, is the car mine? Am I able to sell it? I have the title but it has a lien on it from Chrysler. I just want to get rid of it. Please help as I have someone interested in the car, but I don't know how to proceed. Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer their input.

You can't sell it without a clear title. Likely, it's not worth the effort for the lender to repo.
Call Chrysler and ask them to pick it up.

Sorry, your post is confusing. You refer to two cars, the Neon and the newer car that you've obtained since you turned in the Neon. WHICH one is the title you have for?

I would guess that the Neon has long been sold at auction so if the title you have w/ the Chrysler lien is for this one the paper is worthless and the auction house simply obtained a new title.

The newer car - it doesn't sound like that one was included in the bk...so are you making payments? You should be able to dispose of this one through normal means and transfer title after paying off Chrysler. Sorry if I got this all backwards.

The car belongs to Chrysler now because of surrendering it in BK.....
Call them to pick it up.............
After 30 days, if they don't pick it up, call them back, tell them you are going to start charging storage on it.....
They'll come get it..........

Yes but continue to drive it (and pay for insurance) until they "pick it up".

I'm assuming you still drive that piece to work. Like the other members have said, "go offroad if you have had the desire too". My SUV is "OOS" because of my recent fun and awaiting pickup.
