Got word of what my 2005 tax refund is...

...unfortunately, it's around $3k....I filed in Octoer 6, 2005....any mathimatical wizzards who can tell me what I may actually get to keep?

FL trustee has requested a copy of my return & I guess I have to wait for IRS to mail me refund check? That check was requested as well....

I know, I know, not a big price to pay for $50K in cc debt, but man, could I ever use it now!

I claim my two boys on my tax return as well as a person who lives with me who I ended up supporting over six months of 2005....have receipts on this...my taxes were filed the same way last year....
Filed Oct 2005discharged February 2007,Shapeless in the fire's glow, tell me if you think you know,

Yes, the trustee is gonna get some of that, unfortunately.

Hopefully the child credits he will let you keep, I think they are exempt.

How much he'll take, probably 10 months worth...... I think you divide your refund by 12 months then he takes how many months you were out of bankruptcy before you filed. From the day you file till the end of the year is yours. I'm not absolutely sure, but I think thats the way it works....

Somebody else might be able to help you more in this area....

Yes, its a small price to pay to eliminate all that debt - but it still "hurts the pocketbook" when you use it every year for certain things (like auto insurance, taxes, etc)....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
