Cost of Living

How does the cost of living work in a buget? The price of gas just went to 3.00/gal. We live in a rural area and have to drive to get anywhere. Husband drives 80 mile round trip to work. The grocery bills keep getting higher but the wages don't. We just started our plan and already we are doing without. We go to our 341 meeting tomorrow. Any ideas? Everyone posts such great responses on here. Thanks

I feel your pain, I really do. We are 18 months into our plan and things are REALLY tight. We have had to make cuts where I didn't think we could make cuts. Cancel the regular phone service and go onto Vonage phone service. Stop any excesses like digital cable or high speed internet. Buy store brand food products. I make do with less so my wife and kids and have what they need.

Honestly, I won't sugarcoat it. It is hard. You just have to bite the bullet and make due with what you have left. But it does get easier....at least I am not worried about bill collectors and overdue bills

We are only a couple of months into our plan. So far, so good. We are really committed to sticking to our budget. We are saving every penny we can, but it is hard. It is a comfort to know that no one will call and harrass us again.
