    Equifax Credit Report Question-Help Please!

I just received a hard copy of my credit report and I have a question that relates to credit reporting on Equifax and the Date Maj Delq Rept column.

I filed bankruptcy 10-5-05 and had two BOA and two Amex accounts which were current my day of filing. I just received a hard copy of this report and it is showing DOLA of 10/2005 to 11/2005 for the four different accounts.

Wouldn't my DOLA be my BK filing date?

All of my last payments were made in Sept for Sept; I filed in Oct before the due dates for the accounts. The Date Maj Del 1st Rept shows 10/2005 to 11/2005. Are they reporting the BK as a Date of Maj Del first reported? Or are they reporting that I was delinquent at time of filing, which I was not?

I would not think that a bankruptcy would be reported as a Date of Maj Del. It has me a bit confused as to what it actually means.

I have other accounts reporting DOLA 12/2002 and Date Major Del 1st Rept 11/2005. The DOLA is correct and also filed BK on them 10/2005. What should their Date Major Del 1st Rept be? Wouldn't it be when they charged it off 180 days after the Date of last payment (DOLA)?

I have other accounts IIB DOLA 10/2002 and 11/2002 with no Date Major Del 1st Rept.

Which reporting is correct when there is a BK involved? I am really confused and not sure how to ask them to correct the entry as I don't know myself which way it is suppose to be reported.

I originally posted this on the Credit Section yesterday. I checked this AM and the post dropped to page five after being viewed 20+ times. Perhaps I posted to the wrong board and shoud have started here???

I need to get this clarified in my mind so I know how to dispute these errors.

    Thanks for any insight.

Am not real familar with the way Experian handles their credit reports and delinquency reporting.

If your payments were current at the time of filing Bankrutpcy - then dispute the delinquency reporting.... state that at the time of filing BK they were not delinquent and this must be corrected on your report.

Basically you are looking to make sure that all acounts that were included in your bankrutpcy say "discharged in bankruptcy"..... this is the main thing.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
