    Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well everyone, I have posted a couple times about my paying off early, but still waiting for the trustee to do his thing and close my case. That has
finally happened, and I now have a final and complete timeline to share with you.

    7/28/04 filed
    9/10/04 341 meeting
    11/18/04 plan was confirmed
2/28/06 paid off plan in full (it was a 100% plan anyway)
3/05/06 wage order sent to my employer from judge to stop garnishment
3/30/06 payoff was disbursed to creditors.
    4/13/06 discharge granted
5/8/06 trustees final audit completed, and CASE CLOSED!!
5/12/06 received refund check for overpayment to trustee.

He also included a letter congratulating us on a successful completion and offering advice on credit repair. He suggested sending a copy of his letter of completion to all 3 credit bureaus, which I plan to do. I felt like framing the letter, actually, I was so glad to receive it!! LOL Anyway, its good to finally have all the loose ends tied up so we can MOVE ON.

    WoooHoooo!!

I know you are relieved, 13inOR, to have this finally done and over with.

Amazing that it only took 3 months from the time you made your last payment to get discharged, closed, audited, and receive your refund of overpayment.

Talk about taking their good ole' sweet time!!

But now it's behind you and you can move on!!

    Many Congrats!!

And don't run off an leave us. We enjoy your company!!

Thanks, SF!!! Yes, like I have said before, good thing no ones LIFE was
depending on that closure and refund, cuz they'd be DEAD!!!! LOL

Don't worry, I plan on hanging around. I can still learn a lot about credit repair, and any knowledge or experience I can pass on to someone else in a chapter 13 that might help them a little, is worthwhile to me. I know how
      difficult it can be!

Plus, SF, I have to be here to know how your whole thing turns out! I am hoping it all goes smooth and quick for you.

        Congratulations

I hate to admit how jealous I am right now. 1 payment down, 59 to go for me..... There will be no chance for me to get an early out since I'm not anywhere near a 100% payback.

Thanks aa, and I know its hard to look ahead sometimes. But think about the fact that you are now finally taking charge of things, and getting your life in order. I can tell that you are one of the people that are going to be successful at this, and just think how great you will feel when your discharge and closing comes!!
I will still be here cheering you and Jane Taylor and all of the other chapter
13ers on to your successful completion. Take heart!!!

Congratulations...you must feel so great! Like another poster said, I'm jealous. I started with 36 payments and now I have 17 more to go. I always said that I'd feel a little bit more relaxed once the halfway point hit. Now that I'm here I see that my life still revolves around the BK and things are still stressful. Such is life. I just hope I'm writing a happy report like you in about a year and a half!

We're hoping to file sometime in June. Early June I hope.

The attny wanted to wait until we got moved into our new place. The paralegal said it won't hurt one bit to wait. We're not in danger of any lawsuits at this point. So far nothing's gone to Collections. And if it does, they just add a new Creditor and address to the Creditor Matrix. Waiting til after the Foreclosure sale will actually make filing against the mortgage Lender a bit easier.

Utilities are checking on our Credit to decide if we need to pay security deposits or not. That could be difficult with an open BK in progress.

The new Landlord could balk if we have an open BK before we physically got moved in. They could possibly yank our Lease, even tho it's all signed and we've paid our Secuity Deposit.

Since we're breaking this lease and including this Landlord as a Creditor, if we file before we leave, we tip our hand there.

Plus we gotta consider earned but unpaid wages AND how much money is in the bank at the time.

This planning the timing of the filing it like walking a tight rope without a net.

The waiting is tiresome as you well know. We keep getting phone calls and letters in the mail. We both just want to get the BK over and done with. And we know that filing just starts a whole new waiting game.

One thing, once you do file you will heave a huge sigh of relief!
